A genuine Surrealist offering from this young artist. This unique work gets much less attention than her dragon and fantasy type works (this one has 87 favs, as compared to one of her fantasy animals having over 900), but I’ve seen hundreds of dragons for every one artist/rapacious-flower-monster. Look at the mouth on this thing! It’s part purple flower, as in Audrey II from “Little Shop of Horrors” – “Feed me Seymour!” – and yet the head also reminds me of an oyster, a squid’s cone, and a dinosaur. The creature has no eyes and just lashes out at the canvas, as thick, viscous fluid drips from its mouth. Despite its apparent voraciousness, it’s a strangely beautiful beast. Maybe I shouldn't meddle too much, but I've encouraged this artist to do more of this sort of work instead of her much more popular fantasy work.
